Giants must put teams Away

Giants seem to do better when coming from behind. When they are leading the coaches become cautious and do not play right. They have not learned to put teams away. That is one of the reasons for Eli's fourth quarter comebacks and sensational two minute drills. That is the only time they release him and let him be himself. Corner back Brown is great on interceptions. Not that great on coverage. Giants should play Wilson and Brown more. Bradshaw needs more humility. He is good but limited. Refs killed the Giants yesterday. Gave Dallas all the calls. Again. Critics say that Eli gets the team in trouble then has to bail them out. Not so. The cautious play calling makes his numbers look bad early. Notice that when Dallas took the lead 24-23 the Giants offense took on a completely different look. They have to stop sitting on leads. And one of the reasons the Giants play down to their opponents is that the coaches don't coach as well in those scenarios. Hopefully, the Giants will learn better. Their coaching is still way better than Dallas whose coaches cannot put a game plan together. Dallas has a tremendous amount of talent which good coaching would improve their won-loss record.

Cruz and Is Eli the best?

The winning touchdown was not that easy. Cruz and Manning read the corners who were leaning short, so they let it fly. Three guys running after Victor. All those short passes before this set up this long completion. Strange, that with all this fourth quarter come from behind wins, instead of praising Eli, some say it is the early mistakes by him which set this up. Not true. Rather it is usually in the fourth quarter that the coaches let Eli be himself where he can dominate. Rodney Harrison, from Sunday Night Football, admitted what many are slow to recognize, that Eli is the best. And the best is still to come. Giants do have to run some more. Considering how good R III is, the Giant defense did a good job. Nice win.

The Coach Reigned him in

Looks like Vick got some discipline on Sunday night as he did not try to force passes and threw the ball away rather than attempt impossible plays. The Giants paid for their aggressiveness as the McKoy changed course effectively and piled up obscene yards. The Manning interception was a costly one as it was in the end zone when at least three points was almost certain. Barden continues a solid receiver and will only get better. Bennett could not get unraveled for unknown reasons. Amazing how both offenses changed dramatically in the second half. From constant punts to moving the ball at will. Apparently they saw what the defense was doing at half time and made the adjustments. All in all it was a great game. Not the blow out I expected. The Eagles just seem to find ways to beat the Giants. Wilson was a big plus for the Giants. He showed his explosiveness and lightning acceleration. Time to play him more at halfback. The Giants do not seem to do well when they start well. They do not fare well when they peak early. So we have it just where we want it.
